The Son of Salem Murdered: Soul Suspect

Murdered: Soul Suspect

Welcome to Salem!

Notoriously known for the witch trails that took place in the late 1600's.

You play as Ronin, a cop who got a lead on a case that has caused quite a stir around Salem as of late.

If you watch the video you'll come to the understanding that, well your dead and trying to find your killer.

There are aspects to this game that make it enjoyable and others not so much.

The game gives you an interesting take on what it is like to be ghost/geist/specter. I also like the mystery and gathering of clues. You can gather a few clues and try to come to a conclusion, or you can gather more clues and solve it with more probable outcome.

Besides the the main mission there are also side missions or should I say ghosts who want closure. You can either aid them and find out what happened to them or you can leave them and just focus on your case.

There is a few hiding go seek instances where you interact with hostile ghosts "Demons". You have to avoid them until they look in a different location. You can then perform an "Exorcism" and purge the demon from the world. If you mess up and they spot you will have to play hiding go seek. Which then has you jumping from a ghostly hole into another, and into another to avoid the demon.

I wouldn't really classify this as horror but more of a mystery. Townsfolk that you interact with have two lines that they usually say. When you load into a new area. That theme continues.

I'll give this a thumbs up due to the story being enjoyable. Voice acting was tolerable, mechanics were alright. Some areas were repetitive (Hiding go seek with demons).

I would recommend picking this up on a steam sale if it interests you. Wait for it to fall under 10$. Without strolling around helping other ghosts or looking for collectibles. This game is easily 3.5 - 4 hours long.

3.5/5
